Just had a storm? Do this first.
- Stay safe. If a tree or limb came through, stay out of that part of the house.
- Take photos of the damage, inside and out.
- Stop more damage. Move valuables away from leaks. If the roof is open, call us for emergency tarping.
- Call us for a free inspection. We’ll tell you straight whether there’s damage worth a claim, and we document everything before any temporary repairs go on.
- Start your claim with your insurance company. They’ll ask what happened (hail, wind, tree) and when. If the damage is obvious, like a tree through the roof, you can call them right away.

How an insurance roof job works
- Free inspection. We get on the roof and document the damage with photos and measurements. No cost, no obligation.
- Emergency repairs, if needed. If the roof is open, we tarp it. If a tree came through, we do temporary framing to keep the weather out. We photograph everything before the tarps go on, so your adjuster can see what’s underneath.
- You file the claim. The claim is in your name. If you’re not sure what to report, like the date of a hail storm you didn’t know hit your house, we’ll sit down with you and walk through it.
- We meet your adjuster on site. Your adjuster usually calls within about 48 hours to set a time. Send us their name, number and appointment window, and we’ll be there to walk them through the damage we documented. It’s much easier to get everything seen on the first visit than to ask for it later.
- Paperwork and approval. When time allows, we put together measurements, photos and an estimate you can upload to your insurer’s portal. Straightforward claims often have paperwork and a check in about 2 to 3 weeks.
- We build it right. Once you’re approved, we install your new roof. If we find hidden damage during tear-off, we document it and give you what you need to send your insurer. And if a tree damaged more than the roof, we’re a licensed general contractor, so we can handle the inside repairs too, with local trades we’ve trusted for years.

Real storm jobs from your neighbors
“CountryLand Roofing helped me out when I was in need. My insurance company denied my claim when I had experienced a hail storm at my house. I heard that CountryLand could help me from a good friend and sure enough they did. Met with a new adjuster and proved our case. They saved my family thousands and I am forever greatful. Highly recommend this company.”

“Highly Recommend CountryLand Roofing! Tyler Smith responded quickly during an emergency situation to my dad’s house, after a tree was removed from the roof after the ice storm. He came at night during a power outage and removed ice, snow, and tree limbs that had penetrated the roof. Tyler put a tarp on the damaged portion of the roof to prevent further inside damage and that gave us peace of mind. He was so helpful during the lengthy insurance process, communicated often, and answered all my questions. Tyler and his team replaced dad’s damaged roof, cleaned up, and did an excellent job! It looks great and we are highly satisfied!”

“I highly recommend CountryLand Roofing and know firsthand why they have an A+ BBB rating. I had the pleasure of working with Harrison Yonts and my experience was amazing. I am an older adult and had lots of trouble dealing with my insurance company when trying to get a new roof even though the inside damage to my home was getting worse every time it rained. Mr. Yonts showed up every time I needed him to for inspections. He was punctual, kind, courteous and professional and always did exactly what he told me he would working with my insurance. I am so proud of my new roof which was installed in one day. I will recommend everyone that needs a new roof to CountryLand Roofing. It is rare today to find a company that really does what they say they will do for their customers.”

Local. Not storm chasers.
After a big storm, out-of-town crews show up knocking on doors. Many are gone by the time you need a warranty honored.
Tyler grew up just down the road in Humphreys County and started school in Burns. Harrison has worked construction his whole career, from building cabinets and furniture to roofing. They’ve run CountryLand out of Dickson since 2016, and they’re not going anywhere.
- Here after the storm. Our office is on Henslee Drive in Dickson.
- No pressure. We tell you what we see and let you decide.

Frequently asked questions
Your claim
Will my insurance cover a new roof?
Most homeowner policies cover sudden damage from hail, wind and falling trees. Normal wear and age usually aren’t covered. Your policy has the final word, and we’ll tell you honestly what we see.
Should I call my insurance company or you first?
If the damage is obvious, call your insurer to start the claim and call us for an inspection. If you’re not sure there’s damage, call us first.
Will you be there when the adjuster comes?
Yes, whenever we can. Send us the adjuster’s name, number and appointment time.
How long does a claim take?
It depends on your insurer and how fast the adjuster gets out. Straightforward claims often wrap up in 2 to 3 weeks.
Will my premiums go up if I file?
That depends on your insurer and policy, so your agent is the best person to ask. What we can do is tell you honestly whether the damage is worth a claim before you file.
What if the insurance estimate is lower than the real cost?
It happens, often because damage was missed on the first visit. We’ll document what’s missing with photos and measurements so you can send it to your insurer and ask them to take another look.
What if my claim is denied?
A denial isn’t always the final word. Here’s what we recommend:
- Ask your insurance company for the denial reason in writing.
- Get an independent roof inspection with photos. We’ll do one for free.
- Ask your insurer for a re-inspection and send them the photos and documentation.
- If they still say no, you can appeal. You handle the conversations with your insurer, and we give you the documentation to back it up.
Some denials are correct, and if yours is, we’ll tell you straight. Watch how one homeowner’s denied claim was overturned.
Cost and your deductible
How does the deductible work?
Your deductible is your share of the project, paid to the contractor. Insurance pays the rest of the approved amount. Some deductibles are a flat amount; others are a percentage of your home’s value.
Can you waive or cover my deductible?
No, and you should be careful with any roofer who offers to. Your deductible is part of your insurance agreement, and we bill it honestly.
Can I finance my deductible?
Yes. Financing can cover your deductible or upgrades insurance doesn’t pay for. See financing options.
Storm damage
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. No cost and no obligation.
My roof isn’t leaking. Could it still have storm damage?
Yes. Hail damage often doesn’t leak right away. If neighbors are getting new roofs after a storm, it’s worth a look.
What damage do you see most around Dickson?
Mostly hail and wind, plus trees and limbs coming down on roofs.
Do you handle commercial buildings?
Yes. Flat, low-slope and metal roofs on shopping centers, churches, schools and warehouses, including storm claims. See our commercial roofing page.
Not sure it’s storm damage? Don’t file until you’re sure.
We’ll inspect your roof for free and give you a straight answer on whether it’s worth a claim.
